Tamaqua's tennis team gained its first win of the season by blanking Jim Thorpe.

Tamaqua swept singles play and also cruised in doubles to register a 5-0 win over Jim Thorpe.

Gonzolo Hernandez-Cascante, Evan Stoll and Matt Hadesty sealed the victory for the Raiders (1-2) with singles win.

The loss dropped Jim Thorpe to 0-2.

Lehighton-PM East

Pocono Mountain East downed Lehighton 7-0 in the Indians' opening match of the season.

The Cardinals posted straight-set victories in all three singles matches.

In doubles play, the Lobien sisters (Deb and Jess) won the second set of No. 2 doubles (6-4) for Lehighton, but eventually dropped the match in three sets.
