Tamaqua students complete YES course

Several Tamaqua Area High School students successfully completed the YES course offered by the Pennsylvania Manufacturers and Employers Council and were recognized at a breakfast held last week at the Pottsville Club. The Your Employability Skills (YES) certification program is designed to bridge the worlds of education and work by developing and enhancing basic job skills sought by managers in all business/industry fields. To successfully complete the program, students must pass the in-class curriculum; attain a proficiency in Reading, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education; score 21 or better on the Wonderlic Personnel Tesy; successfully pass a six panel drug screening; and have a 95 percent or better attendance rate.
