Local Lutheran churches busy filling 'Flood Buckets'

Members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, in cooperation with Trinity Lutheran Assemblies and the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton, have been working to fill five gallon buckets with cleanup supplies for families and victims devastated by flooding in the United States.

The churches are taking donations of items including bleach, scouring pads, sponges, cleaning towels, Easy Wipes, dry laundry detergent, dish soap, clothesline, clothespins, dust masks, latex and non-latex work gloves, heavy duty trash bags, insect repellent and much more.All materials should be new, and liquids in unopened plastic bottles. Organizations or residents of the community can drop off donations of supplies for the flood buckets or call (570) 668-2180 or (610) 377-4303.
