In a little less than five years, Pastor John Pounder and a loyal congregation succeed in wiping out a $50,000 debt and starting the new year with a clean balance sheet. The pastor and members of the First Baptist Church of Lansford held its out-of-debt celebration, an occasion that filled every seat in the spacious edifice. Soloists at the service included William E. Davis of Lansford and Mrs. John F. West of Tamaqua.
