A Northampton County man is facing bad check charges in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the owner of Mt. Pocono Check Cashing reported that a suspect cashed two checks on Sept. 27 in the total amount of $1,649. It was later discovered that the account the checks were drawn on had insufficient funds. On Oct. 8 the suspect attempted to cash two more checks that amounted to $1,166.The suspect was identified as Zachary Penick, 24, of Danielsville. Police checked with Northampton police concerning Penick and learned he had an outstanding warrant issued on Nov. 24, 2009, for bad checks.Penick was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville on the warrant. He will be charged with bad checks, police added.
