It was a big day for Pleasant Valley on Tuesday as the Bears wound up with wins in field hockey, boys soccer and girls volleyball.

FIELD HOCKEY

ES South-Pleasant Vy.

Pleasant Valley blanked MVC-foe East Stroudsburg South Tuesday afternoon, winning by a score of 2-0.

Kira Sever and Felicia Domenici scored the two goals for the Bears (7-6).

PV Goalie Hannah Bard made three saves in net to preserve the shutout.

BOYS SOCCER

ES South-Pleasant Vy.

The Bears exploded for five goals in the first half and wound up shutting out the Cavaliers 7-0 in Mountain Valley Conference action.

Malik Krcic had a hat trick for the Bears, while james Patterson, Alex Mansour and Mike Masullo added the other goals. Jack Wathen and Tyler Michlik had two assists each.

Pleasant Valley had a 23-7 edge in shots on goal, while AJ Werkheiser had four saves and Schyler Jacobson two for the Bears. Luke Cason had 12 saves in goal for the Cavs.

The Bears are now 12-1 overall and 8-0 in the MVC ES South is now 2-10 overall and 0-8 in the MVC

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

-Panther Vy.

Panther Valley topped Jim Thorpe 25-9, 25-14, 25-10 in Schuylkill League volleyball action.

The Lady Panthers (5-5, 4-4) received a solid performance from Chrissy Macholik. She totaled 20 service points, nine aces and 12 assists.

Steph Kachelries added eight service points and three aces, while Celene Yelito chipped in seven service points and four aces.

Panther Valley also won the JV match, 26-24, 25-21.

Millersburg-Marian

Marian handled Millersburg with ease on the volleyball court, winning 25-4, 25-3, 25-8.

Taylor Mele led the way for the Fillies (8-0) from the service line. She racked up 16 service points with six aces. Teammate MaryKate Sherkness also had six aces to go along with her 14 kills.

Also serving well was Rachel Krajcirik, who finished with 14 service points. She also dished out 28 assists.

The Pleasant Valley Bears remained undefeated in MVC play by defeating East Stroudsburg South in three games, 25-18, 25-14, 25-22.

Britni Cumberland was the leading stat-getter for the Bears, as she finished with 21 assists, four digs, three kills and two blocks.

Teammates Kayla Dorney had Breanna Joseph added eight kills apiece. Kaitlin Raseley had seven kills.

Lourdes-Weatherly

For the first time in eight years, Weatherly' volleyball team was able to knock off Lourdes 23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15.

Brittany Hinkle led the Wreckers (9-3, 4-3) offensively with 13 kills. She also had 20 digs. Teammate Rachel Heister helped out with 29 assists.

Doing a great job defensively were Sarah Dolinsky (25 digs), Alyssa Kephart (15 digs), Alicia Panzarella (13 digs) and Sam Strizack (13 digs). Kephart also had six blocks and five aces.

Weatherly won the JV match as well, 27-25, 25-23.

Tamaqua

-Upper Dauphin

Tamaqua lost its first game against Upper Dauphin, but came back to win the next three and the match, 23-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-16.

The Raiders' Sarah Paluck led the team with 14 service points (three aces) and ten kills.

Paige Baddick dished out 24 assists, while Stacey Wallace added nine kills, eight service points and three blocks.
