State police at Lehighton reported the results of a sobriety checkpoint operation conducted beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, to 2 a.m. on Sunday. The checkpoint was set up along SR209, just north of Mill Pond Rd., in Polk Township, Monroe County.

A total of 130 vehicles were stopped resulting in three arrests for driving under the influence (DUI), nine traffic citations issued and 24 written warnings handed out. The traffic citations were for various moving and equipment violations.
