Worker rescued from Yenser's tree farm

A 71-year -old man had to be rescued Tuesday afternoon when a piece of equipment rolled on top of him in Mahoning township. 

The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. as he was operating a piece of equipment on a steep grade on the Yenser tree farm.

The man was discovered trapped beneath the tractor in a field of evergreen trees.

He was freed by members of the Mahoning Valley fire company and police. He was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown by Life Flight helicopter to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.
