Woman injured in one-car crash

A woman was injured after being involved in a one-car crash Monday night in Franklin Township.

Township police Chief Jason Doll said the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when a vehicle operated by Rebecca Wilder struck the bridge at 1879 Long Run Road.

Doll said Wilder, whose age and place of residency were unknown as of this morning, was taken to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest with serious injuries.

He said it is uncertain whether the passenger, Jesse Smith, whose age and place of residency were also unknown, sustained any injuries.

Doll said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Also assisting at the scene were the Franklin Township Fire Department, Franklin Township Fire Police and Lehighton Ambulance.
