Wind chill as low as zero today; snow Saturday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 10 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday.

Snow is expected, is expected to develop during the late morning and early afternoon on Saturday. The heaviest snow is expected from the mid afternoon to early evening hours.

Precipitation should gradually taper off Saturday night.

Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected.

The latest forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 27. Wind chill values as low as zero. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 9 to 14 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 12. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Saturday: Snow before 4 p.m., then snow, possibly mixed with sleet. High near 34. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Rain, snow, and sleet likely before 1 a.m., then a slight chance of rain between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a slight chance of snow after 4 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 26. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33. West wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
