During the regular meeting of Weissport Borough Council on Monday, the following items were discussed:

• Approved a request for budget writing training made by Secretary-Treasurer Jessica Ahner. Council also approved mileage reimbursement to and from the training.

• Discussed the need for tree trimming in the borough park due to dead limbs. Council will seek bids and take action at a later meeting.

• Authorized the maintenance department to paint lines on Bridge Street for the police department. The lines are used along with a certified stopwatch for speed enforcement.

• Council President Arland Moyer Sr. reminded residents that the police department has its own telephone number, 610-377-5608, and it should be used to leave messages for police. Emergencies should be reported to 911 or the nonemergency communication number, 570-325-9111.
