The Weatherly Area High School Alumni Association has received a donation of $85,526.95 from the estate of Wilbur (Tim) Frable, according to association President Todd A. Gimbi.

In 1992, Frable’s vision of establishing a high school alumni association became a reality.

In 1998, the association awarded its first $10,000 scholarship to Sarah Hamm. In 2015, the scholarship increased to $15,000.

The association also awards the $2,000 Harry & Loretta Allison Memorial Award, $1,000 Hugo Paul Family Memorial Award, $550 Anna Raynock Memorial Award, and two $500 and $250 distinguished honors awards.

Additionally, the association recognizes outstanding students in several other categorizes with $100 and funds worthwhile projects to the Weatherly Area School District.

A scholarship of $4,000 will be established in the name Wilbur (Tim) Frable Memorial Scholarship.
