Towamensing Township Supervisors meet

At their regular meeting Thursday, Towamensing Township Supervisors took the following actions:

• Awarded a contract of $11,875 to the Service Team for fence installation at the township complex to prevent illegal dumping.

• Granted conditional approval for the Borger two lot subdivision plans. A highway occupancy permit is needed, along with a cash contribution for recreation and a signed and sealed surveyor statement.

• Approved a $150 work boot allowance for the road crew. It was noted only steel-tip boots can be purchased.

• Chairwoman Penny Kleintop administered the oath of office to the newest fire police officer, Byron T. Bonser.

• Authorized the fire police to assist at the St. Luke’s five and dime race on May 11, Palmerton Memorial Day parade on May 27, and the Polk Township 50th anniversary celebration on June 8.
