On Jan. 20, 2017, Donald Trump spoke about a mythical American carnage. Well, look around, my fellow citizens. We are now in the midst of a true American carnage. I don’t mean to be a pessimist, but your country is collapsing in on itself under the evil, hate-filled, conspiratorial dogma of Stephen Miller, Donald Trump and every politician who sits back in silence.

The Republican party is not only silent but vehemently protects Trump and plans for his re-election. We cannot afford that. Our country no longer represents truth, freedom and human rights as designated by our Founding Fathers. We are increasingly representative of the hate that emanates, every day, from the White House.

Is this how you want to live? I certainly don’t. Politicians entrench themselves in Washington and fight only to keep themselves there. They do not fight for the betterment of the country. They spend their entire lives thinking and acting like they deserve to be in Washington. They wonder who we are to oppose them. What do we know? In reality they don’t care what we want. They forget we are the ones who put them there and we are owed their attention.

If we had a citizenry that had a better record of voting, we might be more successful in routing the incompetents. But, since the majority of us do not bother to vote, we must have term limits! We simply can’t allow arrogance and incompetence to indefinitely hamstring our future. Contact your local uncaring representative and tell him or her that we need term limits!
