619 new virus cases bring Pa. total to 129,048

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed Sunday that there are 619 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 129,048. Allegheny County is reporting an increase of 86 cases and Philadelphia County is reporting an increase of 80 cases.

There are 7,578 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 2 new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 20,708 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,387 cases among employees, for a total of 25,095 at 915 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths 5,126 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 9,307 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Carbon County reported one more case for a total of 414. There are 28 deaths.

Lehigh County had nine new cases for a total of 5,128, with 342 deaths.

In Luzerne County, 12 new cases were reported for a total of 3,690, with an additional death for 186 deaths.

Monroe County reported two more cases, bringing the total to 1,690 cases, with 127 deaths.

Northampton had 4,059 cases, an increase of nine cases. There are 296 deaths.

Schuylkill County reported one more case, bringing the total to 971 cases, with 51 deaths.
