428 vehicles in Slatington car show

Indeed, car junkies certainly had their pick of the litter to feast their eyes upon Sunday at the 23rd annual Antique/Collector Car Show at the Slatington Airport along State Route 873.Sponsored by the Slatington Lions Club, there were 428 vehicles entered into the field, a number that was significantly less than the 508 cars that were on display at last year's event, said Ted Kistler, event chairman."We're a little under last year," Kistler said. "Especially the 1970 Dodge Challenger."Among the more notable displays that stood out were a Chevrolet 100-year anniversary display that consisted of old cars and two trailers full of memorabilia, courtesy of Ron Smith of Salisbury; the "Flying Fuzz" Motorcycle Drag Racing Team; as well as a monster casket car.Justin Mauer of Slatington was the lucky winner of a 1965 Mustang raffle car.
