Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• Ashante A. Davis, 32, of Tamaqua, was charged with criminal mischief/damage property from an incident that occurred on June 19. Police were dispatched to the area of Greenwood Street where they spoke with the property owners who said that Davis was on scene and smashed the glass of the front door, which was valued at $1,000.

• Jennifer L. Dipietro, 36, of Tamaqua, was charged with criminal trespass, terroristic threats and harassment by police, stemming from a June 17 incident.

Police were dispatched to Family Dollar for a woman identified at the store as Dipietro. Store employees said she tried to cover her identity with a white hat.

After being told to leave, Dipietro became hostile toward the cashier and threatened to assault her for not letting her in the store. Dipietro caused a scene before leaving the store. Police located Dipietro walking across the parking lot of Boyer’s. When they arrived Dipietro became hostile toward an officer. She was placed under arrest. On Oct. 25, 2018, police issued her a formal notice to not enter the Family Dollar property.

• Justin T. Kanezo, 26, of Pottsville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia and possession delivery of a small amount of marijuana from a June 15 incident. Police were dispatched to the area of Cottage Avenue and West Broad Street for a man asleep at the wheel of his car at a stop sign. Police found marijuana and suspected methamphetamine.

• Shiane E. Follweiler, 26, of Tamaqua, is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession deliver of a small amount of marijuana. Follweiler was the passenger of a vehicle in a traffic stop on June 8. Police smelled the odor of burned marijuana as they approached the car. Follweiler told police that the smell was from her and she smoked earlier that day. Police found a container in the vehicle containing two bags of suspected marijuana and two open bottles of liquor.

• Kimberly J. Hayle, 32, of Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness/similar misconduct stemming from a June 5 incident. Police were dispatched to Boyer’s for a reported woman in cardiac arrest. Police found Hayle unresponsive and laying on her back in the parking lot. EMS arrived on scene and administered naloxone to Hayle, and then transported her to the hospital. Emergency room staff called police into the room where Hayle was, as three purple packets containing suspected heroin were found hidden in Hayle’s breast area.

• William G. Manness, 37, of Tamaqua was charged with harassment, criminal trespass, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct by police stemming from a June 10 incident. Police were dispatched to Rowe street for an unwanted man. The victim stated that Manness was banging on her front door, screaming and yelling. The victim had it on video and police obtained pictures. Police made contact with Manness, who had slurred speech and could barely stand. Earlier in the evening, Manness attempted to break into two other houses in the area.
