Tamaqua District court

Five defendants failed to attend their preliminary hearings before District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, on Sept. 18. Two of the cases were drug related, while the other three were thefts.

Christopher Samuel Schaefer

, 45, of Tamaqua, was due in court on charges of passing a bad check. Tamaqua criminal investigator Thomas Rodgers filed the charge after Schaefer failed to make good on a bad check he issued to Rarick’s Coal and Oil on July 10.

Thomas Case

, 40, of Tamaqua, was charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property by then Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods. The charge stems from a Dec. 6 incident.

Sara Marie Hook

, 38, of Allentown, didn’t appear in court to answer to a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge was filed by Kline Township Police Chief John Petrilla in connection to a July 19 incident.

Jennifer Wisser

, 35, of Tuscarora, failed to appear for a hearing on a bad check charge. The victim is Rarick’s Coal and Oil, which was given a check that bounced on July 10. The charge was filed by Rodgers.

Michael Jacob Merenda

, 33, of McAdoo, was scheduled for a hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. The charges were filed by Petrilla in connection with a July 19 case.

Bench warrants were issued for the arrests of those who failed to appear for their hearings.

William Zabrosky III

, 35, of McAdoo, participated in his hearing and had one charge, simple assault, dismissed. Charges of possession of an instrument of crime, harassment and disorderly conduct were all bound over for trial in the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas. The charges were filed by patrolman Frederick Lahovski in connection with a May 26 case.

Zabrosky was released on his own recognizance.

The remainder of defendants all elected to waive their cases directly to the county court.

Zachary Michael Drobeck

, will face trial on charges of criminal mischief. The remainder of the charges initially filed by state trooper Michael Allar were all withdrawn. The charges were filed in connection with an Aug. 9 case.

Drobeck was freed on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Eric Charles James

, 27, of Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to use required turn signals. The charges were filed by Rush Township patrolman Ryan Oldt after a July 22 incident.

James was freed on his own recognizance.

Colin Lee Johnson

, 25, of Lancaster, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, disregard of a traffic lane, careless driving, accidents involving an unattended vehicle/property. The charges were filed by trooper Allar.

Johnson was released on his own recognizance.

Tiffany Rose Lampron

, 37, of Summit Hill, was charged with writing a bad check to Rarick’s Coal and Oil on July 10. The charges were filed by Rodgers.

Lampron was released on her own recognizance.

Bradley Quentin Freil

, 21, of Mahanoy City was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia by Oldt. The charges stem from a June 7 case.

Freil was released on his own recognizance.

Glenis Tejada

, 28, of Lansford, was charged with writing a bad check to Rarick’s Coal and Oil on July 10. The charge was filed by Rodgers.

Tejada was released on her own recognizance.

Connor D. Mahan

, 23, of Middletown, New Jersey, was charged with four counts of DUI of a controlled substance. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Christian DeAngelo after an Aug. 17 incident.

Mahan was released on his own recognizance.

Ashley D. Baldini

, 33, of Wilkes-Barre, was charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving after an incident on Nov. 23, 2017. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Douglas Springer.

Baldini was released on her own recognizance.

Jose Luis Santiago

, 46, of Coaldale was charged with four counts of DUI of a controlled substance, failure to use required turning signals and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Coaldale patrolman Thomas Sabulsky in connection with a March 23 case.

Santiago was released on his own recognizance.

Keith J. Schlosser

, 36, of Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license by Rush Township patrolman Lahovski. The charges stem from a July 15 incident.

Schlosser was released on his own recognizance.

Gerald Robert Fisher Jr.

, 50, of McAdoo was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance after a July 19 incident. The charges were filed by Petrilla.

Fisher was released on his own recognizance.

Latia Nahf

, 25, of Tamaqua was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia by Oldt. The charges stem from a June 26 incident.

Nahf was released on her own recognizance.
