Tamaqua assault escalates

Two people were cited after a domestic dispute in Tamaqua on Wednesday.

Police were called to a Brown Street address at 12:50 a.m. for a domestic dispute. They found Charles Owen Dandridge, 34, and Jessica Lynn Danouski, 32. The couple admitted having a heated exchange of words.

Danouski said at one point Dandridge grabbed her arm. That’s when she sprayed him with mace and demanded he leave the home.

Dandridge was unable to leave the residence as he’s on state parole, with an ankle monitor.

Officers left after the duo calmed down.

Later that day, at 2:30 p.m., the couple went to the police station to file formal complaints against each other saying the argument restarted after officers left.

Danouski said they argued again with Dandridge grabbing her and throwing her to the ground. She kicked him in the groin. He sprayed her with mace. She screamed. He placed his hand over her mouth. She bit him. At 4 a.m., she grabbed two kitchen knives and he fled to the front porch.

Dandridge said she threatened to hit him with a ladder but instead punched him and sprayed him with mace. She also threw darts at him then grabbed the knives and tried to stab him. That’s when he went outside, to the porch, waiting for things to calm down.

Police charged both combatants with simple assault and harassment.
