It has been my privilege to work with Mark Sverchek over many years in serving Carbon County.

I initially met Mark when he was working for a local community bank. We worked together instituting a Community Reinvestment Act program to assist low-income residents in obtaining their first home, among other projects.

We met again when Mark served on the Board of Directors for Gnaden Huetten Hospital, and we knew survival of small community hospitals was unlikely due to a reimbursement system that favored mega-hospitals.

He currently serves as a board member for St. Luke’s Miners Campus and is able to give valuable insight as how to best serve the health care needs in Carbon County. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce.

There are many other organizations that Mark is involved in, too numerous to detail here.

Mark has always been thoughtful and reasonable in sharing his opinions and vision for our community.
