Summit Hill man charged with assaulting woman

Summit Hill Police charged a man with assaulting a woman and threatening to throw her down the stairs.

Matthew Warren Elison, 18, of East Hazard Street, faces assault and harassment charges in connection with the incident which occurred at his home.

A woman told police that Elison barged into her room, threw her on her bed and caused her to fall off. She said he then struck her multiple times on the side of her body and back of her neck. She said he also threatened to throw her down the stairs.

Elison refused to provide a statement when interviewed by police.

He was sent to Carbon County Correctional Facility with bail set at $2,500.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 24.
