State police report area crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes being investigated by troopers:

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:10 p.m. June 13 along Hahns Dairy Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Abigail H. Arnold, 20, of Bethlehem, was driving a 1998 Ford Escort eastbound near Spruce Hollow Road when she crossed the line and hit a 2018 Honda CRV driven by John T. Kappes, 69, of Palmerton. The front of the Escort hit the driver side of the CRV.

No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed.

Troopers cited Arnold for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 10:05 p.m. on June 12 along Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. Kyle J. Horton, 21, of Effort, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze southbound on wet roads, troopers said. Horton attempted to slow down by braking but lost control. The Cruze went over the double yellow lines and onto the left shoulder where it struck a tree.

Horton was evaluated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel.
