State police investigate thefts

State police at Fern Ridge are looking for information regarding several recent theft incidents:

• On April 7 at approximately 1 p.m. state police were dispatched to a residence on Sky Hawk Trail, Jackson Township for the report of a theft of several items. The resident reported missing a gold half dollar, silver Spanish dollar, Nikon camera, air compressor, tan handbag, nail saloon, and cash. The total value of all items is estimated at almost $650.

On April 5 a woman went to the barracks to report that her Bank of America debit card had been fraudulently used. She told police the first illegitimate charge occurred in December 2018 and ultimately resulted in approximately $1,200 in false charges. She reported the incident to her bank who investigated the matter and determined it to be legitimate charges. Kucharska appealed and Bank of America required a police report prior to a second investigation. There are no known suspects or leads at this time.

• A White Haven man reported that sometime between Dec. 1, 2018 and April 4, 2019 someone stole a green Homelite chainsaw and a weed whacker from his residence. The model, and serial number are not known at this time.
