State police investigate incidents

State police at the Lehighton barracks investigated the following incidents:

• Four false alarm calls in 2018 at the Eldred Township Municipal Building have resulted in the issuance of a citation. Police issued the citation after the latest false alarm took place at 12:17 p.m. July 20.

• Kim Summers, 38, of Stroudsburg, is facing charges of theft and crime by deception as a result of an incident at 5:32 p.m. July 6 at Creature Comforts, Saylorsburg, Ross Township. Police said they were called there by a 54-year-old Saylorsburg woman, who reported the theft details.

• State police said a 46-year-old man from Lehighton reported he was bit by a dog along Main Road in Franklin Township on Saturday around 11:40 a.m.

The dog owner was identified as Francis Melnick, 62, of Lehighton. He was cited.
