State police investigate crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

• A two-vehicle crash occurred at 10:12 a.m. on Jan. 20 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Richard W. Walck, 49, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2011 Ford F150, and Grayson N. Dixon, 23, of Yardley, Bucks County, was driving a 2018 Mazda CX-5, when the two were involved in a crash.

Walck suffered a minor injury but refused transport. Grayson and a passenger, Alyssa C. Shoulberg of North Wales, were not injured.

Walck was cited for the crash.

• A crash was reported at 10:28 a.m. on Jan. 22 along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township. Anthony J. Canute, 39, of New Milford, driving a 2018 Western Star, and Brian Romano, 26, of Stroudsburg, driving a 2018 Toyota RAV 4, were involved in a crash. Romano suffered a minor injury but refused transport. His passenger, James R. Cooper, 30, of Albrightsville, was injured and transported by West End ambulance to St. Luke’s Monroe County.

Canute was cited for following too closely.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 7:20 p.m. Jan. 25 along Upper Deer Valley Road in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Isaiah R. Reigel, 19, of Wyomissing, Berks County, was driving a 2004 Hyundai eastbound when he lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment. Reigel was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed. He was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported in Tobyhanna Township on Jan. 26 at 10:27 p.m. Troopers said the driver involved was Raul A. Leal, 49, of Camp Hill, Dauphin County. Details indicated his vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Leal and passengers Jacqueline Campbell, 51; Carla S. Kowlessar, 48; and Mark S. Kowlessar, 29, all of Camp Hill, were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, in East Stroudsburg.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:30 p.m. on Monday along Bartonsville Woods Road in Jackson Township. Alexander J. Arroyo, 22, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 2006 Subaru Impreza eastbound and negotiating a left curve when the vehicle ran over ice and snow. Arroyo lost control of the vehicle, which struck an embankment along the right shoulder. It then hit the embankment a second time, where it came to rest.

Arroyo was not injured. The Subaru had to be towed.

Arroyo was cited for the crash.
