Schuylkill man jailed Friday

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Friday on several charges following an incident in which a knife was allegedly used.

State police at Frackville responded to the area of North Second Street, near Beech Street, in Girardville, at 8:10 a.m. for a report of a disturbance and assault. On scene, troopers were told by a 35-year-old Girardville man that he was threatened by a man with a knife. He identified the man as Edward Conapitski Jr., 19, also of Girardville.

Troopers said Conapitski was located and taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

He was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $40,000 straight cash bail.
