State police at Frackville reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 2:42 p.m. on Wednesday along Mountain Road in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Shayla M. Rivera, 19, of Barnesville, was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester northbound and failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, causing her to lose control. The Forester went onto the east berm and struck the guide rail, then continued back across both lanes of travel, where it struck an embankment along the west berm, overturning onto its roof. It came to rest on its roof, blocking the southbound lane.

Rivera and her passenger, a 1-year-old girl, were taken to the Lehigh Valley South Hospital, Pottsville, for observation. The Forester had to be towed.

Rivera was cited for the crash.
