Schuylkill County police log

• A traffic stop in November 2018 has led to a Schuylkill County driver facing a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

State police at Frackville said Stanley Vidzicki, 59, of Middleport, was stopped at 12:49 p.m. Nov. 24 in the 1400 block of Main Street in Gilberton. He was found to be under the influence and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville Campus, for a blood draw. Test results showed he was over the legal limit of 0.08 BAC. Charges have been filed.

• A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 9:37 a.m. on Jan. 24 along Route 309 in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said John D. Stoffan, 58, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic southbound at a speed too great for the wet road conditions. He lost control of the vehicle, which struck a tree along the right berm. The vehicle had to be towed. Troopers indicated Stoffan sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.

• State police at Schuylkill Haven charged a Schuylkill County woman with two counts of harassment against a woman and her son.

Troopers said Kelly Walls, 54, of Pine Grove, has been charged with two counts of harassment. According to troopers, at 5:04 p.m. on Wednesday, Walls waited outside the BG’s Market, located along Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township, and confronted a 26-year-old Pine Grove woman who was holding her 4-year-old son.

Troopers said Walls began to physically assault the woman while she held the child and tried to protect the child. However, the child was also struck, troopers said.
