Schuylkill County court

Schuylkill County judges have accepted pleas and sentenced two people charged by local police. In addition to their punishments, both were ordered to pay court costs and fees.

Anthony J. Fazio

, 41, of Hazleton, was charged by state police at Frackville with four counts of passing bad checks, and one count each of theft by deception, retail theft and receiving stolen property on Nov. 1, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to all but the receiving charge, which was dropped in plea negotiations.

President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced him to four to 23 months in jail, and to pay $712.94 in restitution.

In a second case, Tamaqua police charged Fazio with passing three bad checks on Oct. 26, 2017.

Baldwin sentenced him to two to 12 months in jail, to be served at the same time as the other sentence, and to pay $1,009.70 in restitution.

Andrew Zakashefski

, 57, of Marion Heights, Northumberland County, was charged by West Penn Township police with harassment on Jan. 11, 2017.

He pleaded guilty, and Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced him to time served to 12 months in jail, with immediate parole since he had served 57 days.
