Appeal attempt

Ortiz was sentenced on those charges Aug. 10, and filed an appeal Sept. 19. A notice of appeal must be filed within 30 days.

The Superior Court directed Ortiz to show cause why his appeal was not filed in time. Although Ortiz filed a response, he did not present legal argument. His appeal was quashed.
