Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced several defendants on May 17.

Peter F. Wasser

, 25, Tamaqua, was arrested by Rush Township Police officer Fred Lahovski July 14, 2018, and charged with DUI/General Impairment and failure to keep right. Baldwin sentenced him to Intermediate Punishment. Wasser will serve the first 25 days on house arrest with electronic surveillance, followed by 35 days strict supervision and four months on probation. He must pay a $50 a month supervision fee upon completion of house arrest.

Wasser will undergo a license suspension for 12 months, followed by 12 months ignition interlock. On the DUI charge, he must pay fines and costs of $550; on the failure to keep right charge his fines and costs are $102. He must perform 20 hours community service.

John W. Filer

, 55, Tamaqua, was arrested on drug charges by Tamaqua police officers three times in 2018, Aug. 15, Aug. 23 and Sept. 10. He must pay $300 to the substance abuse education fund, state lab fees totaling $402 and $150 to the CJEA.

Wendy L. Danforth

, 34, Tamaqua, must serve 15 days to 12 months on a possession of a controlled substance charge. Danforth was arrested Oct. 17, 2018, by Tamaqua officer Anthony Stanell. She must pay $100 to the substance abuse education fund.
