One person was sentenced to county jail time and three others admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitation Program, in decisions by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin on Sept. 13.

Tyler J. Trovinger

, 19, Mary D, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months, with parole to be granted after he serves the minimum sentence. He must pay fines and costs totaling $1,922, undergo a 12-month license suspension, complete alcohol highway safety school, and perform 10 hours of community service. Trovinger was arrested by Coaldale Police on a DUI charge June 21, 2018.

Baldwin admitted three people into the ARD program. If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, the record will be wiped clean. However, if the person fails to complete it or is revoked from it, then he or she would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt by entering the program.

James R. Dutter Jr.

, 37, Tamaqua, was arrested by Tamaqua Police on a DUI charge Oct. 16, 2018. Dutter must pay $500 to the county to defray the cost of ARD, plus fines and costs of $225. He must complete alcohol highway safety school and perform 10 hours of community service.

Christopher J. Owens

, 39, Barnesville, was arrested by St. Clair Police on a retail theft charge Oct. 23, 2018. He must pay $350 to the county to defray the cost of ARD, pay fines and costs totaling $100, and perform 10 hours community service.

Obadiah L. Johnson

, 40, Reading, was arrested by Rush Township Police on April 11, 2019, on charges of possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while operating privileges were suspended or revoked. Johnson must pay $350 to the county to defray the cost of the ARD program, pay fines and costs totaling $1,040.48, and perform 10 hours of community service.
