Providers for Schuylkill County’s Senior Services Office have agreed to three-year contracts, approved by the County Commissioners during a meeting Wednesday.

The Commissioners approved a fee-for-service contract with Frank Malocu, doing business as Golden Years Adult Center, Shenandoah, for 2,451 days at $62.08 per day. The contract cap will be $152,150 for each of three fiscal years, ending 2021-22.

The contract with Avenues, Pottsville is for 700 days at $62.08 per day with a contract cap of $43,456 for each of three fiscal years, ending 2021-22.

The daily rate of $62.08 is a 2 percent increase from the previous fiscal year’s contract, but there will be no increase for three years, County Administrator Gary Bender said.

“Contracting for three years allows the county to extend our contracts, allowing for only a 2 percent increase on the rates we are charged,” he said. “That’s the benefit of contracting for three years — that cost will remain steady for the life of the contract.”

The commissioners approved additional fee-for-service contracts:

With Williamson, Friedberg & Jones LLC, Pottsville, for legal services at a rate of $91.80 per hour with a contract cap of $11,250.

With Berks County Center for Independent Living, Abilities in Motion, Reading at $15,81 per hour with a contract cap of $37,944.

With Dedicated Nursing Associates, Allentown, for 1,960 hours of personal care services at $18.69 per hour with a contract cap of $36,640.

With Focus Health Inc., Selinsgrove, for 980 hours of personal care services at $18.69 per hour with a contract cap of $18,320.
