The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces the following road work this week, weather permitting:

Carbon

• Packer and Lehigh townships: Weatherly Borough, Quakake Road/Main Street/Lehigh Gorge Drive, shoulder work and widening between Spring Mountain Road and Luzerne County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

• Kidder Township and East Side Borough, Route 940/Pinchot Trail, pothole patching between Lehigh River and Monroe County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.

Lehigh

• Bethlehem, Route 987/Airport Road, brush cutting between Route 22 and Avenue C, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Whitehall Township, Route 22 East, off-shoulder work between Cedar Crest Boulevard and Airport Road, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

• Allentown, I-78 shoulder work between Exit 49 (Route 100) and Northampton County line, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday; I-78 ramps, shoulder and ramp work between Exit 49 (Route 100) and Northampton County line, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.

Monroe

• Multiple townships: I-80 East bridge repair between Exit 293 (Junction I-380) and Exit 310 (Route 611), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Northampton

• Bethlehem Township, Route 33 North, drainage between I-78 and Freemansburg Avenue, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday; Route 22 East bridge repair between Route 512 and Route 191, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

• Hanover Township, Route 22 highway beautification between Northampton County line and New Jersey State line, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Schuylkill

• McAdoo Borough, Route 309, ongoing construction between Kelayres Road and Jackson Street beginning on Monday and estimated to end on Nov. 5. Long-term moving road closures on Route 309. The closures begin between the Eighth and Ninth streets and will continue south in two-block stages. This stage of construction will continue until November. This is for the ongoing Route 309 Reconstruction Project. As part of this project, truck traffic is being detoured around the borough, utilizing I-81 at Exit 138 to Route 424 at Exit 141 to Route 309. Local deliveries are not prohibited. Passenger vehicle detour will utilize Kelayres Road and Blaine Street. Please use caution.

• Foster/Frailey townships: I-81 lane restriction between Exit 112 (Route 25) and Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road), 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

• West Penn Township, Route 309 drainage between Clamtown Road and West Penn Drive, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
