Published August 05. 2018 05:33PM

Fire companies from East Penn and West Penn townships were on scene of a rescue on Bake Oven Knob Sunday afternoon.

The initial call was for a person down, unable to move.

Later it was learned there were additional victims to be rescued, thought to be suffering from dehydration.

All-terrain vehicles were sent into the trail.

At 5:30 p.m. two people, a male and female were brought out to safety.

The pair were evaluated by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance. Authorities report the pair were hiking just off the trail to the Bake Oven Knob and were not supplied with any fluids in the intense heat.
