Police say man jumped car over creek

An Albrightsville man was seriously injured after he fled police and ended up jumping his vehicle over a creek before crashing. Nesquehoning police said Justin William Cannon, 27, of Towamensing Trails, was swerving at pedestrians in New Columbus on Friday night. When police attempted to stop Cannon along West Columbus Avenue, he sped up and flew across the creek and hit the bank on the other side. He was treated at the scene by Lehighton medics before being flown to St. Luke’s for his injuries. Charges are pending. Nesquehoning fire companies, who were already on a call for a furnace malfunction, assisted. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
