Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Nov. 19-21 is:

Monday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, zucchini, salad, brownie or beef and cheese sandwich

Tuesday: Pork chop, halushki, carrots, pudding or barbecue chicken sandwich

Wednesday: Chicken a la king, brown rice, broccoli, scalloped pears or Cuban sandwich

Thursday: Center closed

Friday: Center closed

The center has also announced upcoming events for the remainder of the month.

Chair Zumba on Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. followed by Poker-Keeno at 11 a.m.; Birthday and Bingo on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m.; Name That Tune on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m.; center closed Nov. 22 and 23.

Zumba on Nov. 26 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m.; Put & Take on Nov. 28 at 11 a.m.; Baking Cookies on Nov. 29 at 9:30 a.m.; Cards on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m.

Library story hour

Panther Valley Public Library will hold preschool story hour at 10 a.m. every Tuesday through Dec. 18. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for a story, craft and snack. This program is free of charge.

No registration is necessary, just drop by the library to enjoy this fun-filled hour. For more information, call the library 570-645-3780.

Medicare

The Panther Valley Public Library will be providing assistance to seniors during open enrollment for Medicare.

You may be able to save money on your Medicare and prescription drug costs. We suggest you review your plan each year and we can help you. We will be offering this service at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov 28.

Appointments must be scheduled through the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging. To schedule an appointment please call 800-441-1315.
