Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Nov. 12-16 is:

Monday: Center closed

Tuesday: Onion soup, turkey burger, carrot salad, tropical fruit

Wednesday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple slices or spinach bacon salad

Thursday: Tuscan pork, boiled potatoes, Italian vegetables, sugar cookie or meatloaf sandwich

Friday: Turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, filling, pumpkin squares or turkey chef salad

The center has also announced upcoming events for the remainder of the month.

Center closed on Nov. 12 in honor of our veterans; Yahtzee on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.; Chair Zumba on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. followed by Trivia at 11 a.m.; Surprise Box Bingo on Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.; Movie and Popcorn Day on Nov. 16 at 10 a.m.

Chair Zumba on Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. followed by Poker-Keeno at 11 a.m.; Birthday and Bingo on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m.; Name That Tune on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m.; center closed Nov. 22 and 23.

Zumba on Nov. 26 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m.; Put & Take on Nov. 28 at 11 a.m.; Baking Cookies on Nov. 29 at 9:30 a.m.; Cards on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m.

Golden Agers

The Golden Agers final meeting of the year is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall. Meetings will resume in the spring. Dates will be announced at that time.

Members celebrating birthdays will be recognized at the November meeting.

The scheduled Christmas Party will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 18 at La Dolce Casa in Tamaqua.

Medicare

The Panther Valley Public Library will be providing assistance to seniors during open enrollment for Medicare.

You may be able to save money on your Medicare and prescription drug costs. We suggest you review your plan each year and we can help you. We will be offering this service at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov 14 and Nov 28.

Appointments must be scheduled through the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging. To schedule an appointment please call 800-441-1315.
