Panther Valley holds Christmas concert

The Panther Valley Intermediate School band, directed by Joseph Ogozalek, performed a variety of Christmas songs during the school district’s Christmas concert recently.

Selections included: “Christmas Fun,” “Santa’s Angry Elves,” “Rob Grice,” “A Rather Bumpy Sleigh Ride,” “Santa’s in the House,” “First Rockin’ Christmas,” and “First Christmas March.”

The Junior/Senior High School bands then took the stage to perform four songs: “Christmas Time Is Here,” “Hot Chocolate” from “The Polar Express,” “Winterlight” and “That’s Christmas to Me,” made popular by Pentatonix.

“Believe,” from “The Polar Express,” was a vocal solo by Logan Polak, who will be participating in this year’s District 10 chorus on Feb. 9 at Exeter Township High School.

Logan will also be participating in District 10 Band to be held Jan. 25 at Catasauqua High School.

The High School Band concluded the evening’s program with “A Holiday Galop,” “Peaceful Christmas,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Cambridge Carol,” “3 Jazzy Kings,” “Appalachian Carol” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”

More than 85 students performed in the concert.

The chorus and band students will be performing an ensemble concert on Feb. 14 and the spring concert on May 16.

The school’s music season ends with Memorial Day observances May 26 and 27.
