Concourse Club

The Palmerton Concourse Club will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 9 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. The program will be an Introduction to Qigong, an Ancient Chinese Exercise and Healing Technique and will feature instructor Kiki Peppard.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Company, 359 Main St., Parryville. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, SOS, eggs, omelets or popular Firehouse Mess. Choices of meats are bacon, ham, sausage or scrapple. Includes home fries, juice and coffee. Large and small platters available.

Gaming Grotto

Gaming Grotto is open to the public and is hosted by Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 N. Third St., Palmerton. The event is held the first and third Friday of each month. For the month of January the dates will be Jan. 3 and 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. This is a free gaming lounge where people can build relationships through the gaming culture. Have gaming systems of all kinds and board games. Refreshments are available for a small fee.

School supply drive

For the month of January the Palmerton Area Library is accepting donations of school supplies to benefit S.S. Palmer Elementary School and Parkside Education Center. One unopened package of supplies will count for $1 off your library fines. Examples are pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, notebooks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, tissues, glue sticks, etc.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Palmerton Area Library will meet at the library on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Library Block Party

Let’s Build Block Party is a Pennsylvania State Library initiative encouraging the use of block playing for learning and imagination. The program begins Jan. 7 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Palmerton Library. It will continue every first Tuesday of the month. For ages 3 to 6.

Teen activity

Teen Trivia, Movie, and TV Trivia for ages 13 to 18 will be held at the Palmerton Library on Jan 8 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Space is limited. Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information.

Grief and Loss Support Group

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville is host to a Grief and Loss Support Group. Facilitated by a professional counselor, this group is free to participants. It is a ministry to help people in the community heal from loss. Confidentiality is required of participants and maintained as much as possible. For the month of January the group will meet Jan. 8 at 1 p.m. and Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
