Palmerton groups spread Christmas cheer

The Palmerton Concourse Club teamed up with the Meals on Wheels of Palmerton to spread Christmas cheer to 16 clients.

Anita Horinko, Concourse Club Christmas gifts coordinator, organized the annual project.

Small Christmas trees were donated by Concourse Club member Jo Ann Harris and were decorated by club members. They were then delivered along with the meals to brighten up the clients’ day.

Mary Sander showed her joy at receiving a Christmas tree and she expressed her gratitude to the Meals on Wheels.

“God bless those thoughtful people who organized such a worthwhile cause and all those folks involved in preparing the food and the kind angels delivering the meals to us elderly sick ones who are ever so grateful for their aid to us,” she said. “May God bless them a thousandfold and may the heavenly angels all guard and guide and be forever by their side.”

Marge Porambo, Meals on Wheels volunteer and Concourse club member, delivered meals to Mary and her husband, Harold.

The Concourse Club is a service club and is keeping this annual tradition alive along with their many other worthwhile projects in the Palmerton community.
