Parents of fifth-grade students at Tamaqua Elementary School are busy raising funds for the end of year class trip and dance. Their current fundraiser is an open swim session on Friday at the Tamaqua Area High School Pool. The event is open to all elementary-age students within the Tamaqua Area School District and will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cost is $5 per student.

Hot food, snacks, drinks and tie-dye Raider T-shirts will be available.

Participants are reminded to bring a towel and dry clothing. All students must be signed in and out by a parent/guardian. Inexperienced swimmers should be accompanied in the pool by an adult.
