Northern Lehigh School Board recently approved the following personnel matters:

• The administrative appointment of Bryan Geist to the position of athletic director, at a teaching salary of $85,975, plus a stipend of $9,000.

• The resignations of Dawn DeWalt, high school custodian, effective Oct. 2; Vicky Papay, Peters Elementary instructional paraprofessional, effective Sept. 27; and Diane Silvestri, high school cook’s helper, effective Sept. 20.

• The appointments of Samantha Lilly, long-term substitute high school special education teacher, at a salary of substitute teacher rate days 1-30; day 31 and beyond, $49,750, effective Oct. 2, with a termination date upon the return of a full-time teacher; Matthew Houser, part-time school police officer, $18 per hour plus life insurance benefit, effective Oct. 15; Sally Suda, substitute teacher caller, $8,500 (prorated) per year 190 days per year, effective Oct. 7; and Shawn Wanamaker, high school cafeteria/hall monitor, $11.20 per hour, four hours per day, 180 days per year, effective Oct. 15; Morgan Farber, districtwide permanent substitute teacher for the 2019-2020 school year, at a daily per diem rate of $120, along with district health benefits according to the Affordable Care Act regulations, with co-payment amounts equivalent to that of district personnel.

• The renewal of James Fisher, social studies; Candace Steffie, elementary; Alyssia Wechsler, home economics, K-12, special education, K-12, and Holly Frantz, Spanish, as substitute teachers for the 2019-2020 school year at the 2019-2020 substitute teacher rates as approved on the supplementary personnel salary schedule.

• The appointment of Diana Silvestri as a substitute cafeteria worker for the 2019-2020 school year at the 2019-2020 substitute rate as approved on the supplemental personnel salary schedule.

• The appointment of Holly Frantz as a volunteer aide in the Peters and/or Slatington Elementary School, and middle school for the 2019-2020 school year.

• Professional employee status for teacher William Neal.

• Ryan Cook as associate director for the fall play/spring musical for the Northern Lehigh High School Student Theater Group, $2,500, to be paid from the general fund high school student activities fund.

• Rescinding of the appointment of Ashley King as substitute teacher caller that was approved at the Sept. 9 board meeting.
