NORTHERN LEHIGH SCHOOL BOARD

On a 6-0 vote, with directors Robert Keegan Jr. and Donna Kulp absent, Northern Lehigh School Board took the following action on Monday:

• Accepted the 2017-18 audit and management report for the single audit ending June 30, 2018. A copy of the audit was distributed at the Jan. 14 school board meeting.

• Signed an agreement between the district and Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22 affirming the roles and responsibilities relating to Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program.

• Approved a request by the high school Spanish Club to attend a field trip in New York City on May 17, to be fully funded by the Spanish Club students.

• Ratified a contractual agreement between the district and the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 to continue the Student Driver Education Program at no cost to the district, effective July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020.

• Entered into a three-year agreement between the district and LifeTouch for the purpose of providing school portraits and school services.

• Entered into an agreement for one Northern Lehigh School District student with special needs to attend Hogan Learning Academy LLC in accordance with the promises and covenants contained in the agreement, effective Jan. 16 through June 9.

• Approved a request by Superintendent Matthew J. Link to attend the Leading the Future of Public Education: Bold Leaders Breaking Barriers — Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators conference from March 17-18 at the Hilton Hotel, Harrisburg, with the cost of registration $299, lodging $188, travel $99, and meals $25, for a total cost of about $611, to be funded from the superintendent’s budget.

• Appointed Link as the Open Records Officer for the district. He will be responsible for all public record requests, and his assistant will be Sharon Sherman.
