Nesquehoning police warn residents about mailer

Nesquehoning police warn residents of a mailer that is being delivered to homes around the borough.

Police Chief Sean Smith said the mailer states that the neighborhood “is now using a free private online network called Nextdoor Nesquehoning” and requests the homeowner to join by logging onto the website and submitting personal information.

He said that this is a scam that is targeting homeowners to obtain personal information, and in some cases financial information, to use without your permission.

He said that information about the borough is available on the borough’s secure website at www.nesquehoning.org and will soon also be available on the Nesquehoning police Facebook page, which is in the works, and recommends throwing away the mailer if you receive it.

If you have any questions, Smith said to contact the borough police department at 570-669-9111.
