Nesquehoning man facing assault charges

Tyler James Silbaugh, 26, of the 100 block of West Catawissa Street, in Nesquehoning, was arrested by Nesquehoning police on Dec. 14 with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, after police were summoned to a domestic dispute at 1:56 that morning at that address.

Police said the victim told them she and Silbaugh were involved in an argument when he “snapped,” choking her and threatening to “slit her throat” with a knife.

Police said it is alleged Silbaugh rushed toward the victim, pushing her to the ground and choking her with both hands around her neck.

Silbaugh was taken into custody and charged in the office of Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford.
