The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the area from 4 a.m. Tuesday through midnight.

Total snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are forecast for Carbon County and Monroe County. Snow is expected to overspread the region early on Tuesday morning. It should become heavy at times. The snow is forecast to come to an end on Tuesday evening. Travel will become difficult with the hazardous conditions impacting both the morning and evening commutes.
