Moll reaches milestone at NW

Jim Moll became Northwestern’s all-time leader in wrestling coaching victories on Friday night.

BOYS BASKETBALL

NDES-Marian

Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg handed Marian’s its first home loss of the season, handing the Colts an 80-72 non-league loss.

Tyler Fritz netted a game-high 41 points for Marian, while Chris Ritsick and John Malarkey added 10 points apiece.

Marian slides to 12-2 overall, while Notre Dame ES moves to 6-7.

Allen cruised to a 92-50 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pleasant Valley.

The Bears’ Noah Mitchell netted a team-high 18 points, while Marcus Arce followed with 14.

Pleasant Valley slips to 4-10 on the season, while Allen improves to 12-2.

Pleasant Valley finished strong with a 16-point final frame to pull away for a 47-35 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Allen.

The Bears were led by the duo of Cameron Caffrey and Alyssa Wagner, who both finished with 14 points.

Pleasant Valley improves to 9-5 on the season, while Allen falls to 5-9.

Tamaqua outscored Pine Grove in every quarter to come away with a 53-27 Schuylkill League victory.

Emma Kuczynski posted another double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Raiders, Emily Titus chipped in 10 points.

Tamaqua improves to 11-2 overall on the season, while Pine Grove falls to 7-8.

It was a history making night as Northwestern rolled to a 43-31 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.

With the Tigers’ win, Jim Moll became the all-time winningest coach in Northwestern wrestling history with 105 victories.

Eli Dellicker (113), Jake Dellicker (120), Ben Griffith (132), Mason Brensinger (138), Tyler Watson (170) and Ryan Haverkamp (182) all posted falls for the Tigers.

Panther Valley ran away with a 51-10 victory over Lehighton.

The Panthers’ Chase Weaver and Drew Kokinda both finished with 15 points.

Panther Valley defeated Lehighton, 40-21.

Brady Jones paced the Panthers with 18 points, while Gio Tessitore added nine.

Braydon Johnson topped the Indians with seven points.
