Markovich graduates from Penn State

Macey Kate Markovich, daughter of Jeff and Michelle Markovich of Summit Hill, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English with concentrations in creative writing and literary, and cultural studies from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, on May 4.

Markovich was a recipient of the Provost Award for academic excellence and leadership for all eight semesters. She was also awarded the Milton B. Dolinger Endowed Scholarship in the College of the Liberal Arts for outstanding academic achievement.

She was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and was named to the dean’s list every semester.

A poem she wrote titled “A Mother’s Delight” was selected and published in The Burg newspaper during her freshman year.

She is the granddaughter of Robert and Carol Graver, of Summit Hill, and the late James and Joanne Markovich, of Lansford.

Markovich is a 2015 graduate of Panther Valley High School where she was the class president.
