The polls are closed and we'll be posting all the election results as they come in.

Residents cast votes today in several contested elections including races for school board seats in Lehighton, Jim Thorpe and Pleasant Valley.

In Carbon, Democrat Deb Gigliotti and Republican Jean Papay are running for the Register of Wills/Clerk of Courts office.

Many borough mayor and council members are on the ballot.

In Schuylkill, voters will cast ballots for the district attorney office. Democrat Michael O’Pake is challenging incumbent Christine Holman.

Voters in the West End of Monroe County have races for coroner, treasurer, supervisors and district magistrate.

A ballot referendum would change state law in what could be a step toward property tax relief.
